Alice Kimm

Alice Kimm was born in Chicago and spent her high school years in Seoul , Korea . She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics in 1986 from Cornell University and a Master of Architecture degree in 1990 from Harvard University .
She co-founded John Friedman Alice Kimm Architects (JFAK) in Los Angeles in 1996. Since then the firm has completed projects in the United States and in South Korea . JFAK’s work has been widely published and has garnered numerous awards, including a 2004 AIA Institute Honor Award for the LA Design Center. More recently, JFAK’s Ehrlich Residence as well as the LA Design Center were recipients of AIA/LA Decade Awards.
In 1997 Alice was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to research housing types in Korea . Alice has taught design studios at USC, SCI-Arc, and Otis College of Art + Design. She has served on the Board of Directors of the L.A. Angeles Chapter of the American Institute of Architects and is currently a peer reviewer for the Government Services Administration’s Design Excellence Program.
Doors open at 5:00pm and the lecture will begin at 6:00pm. Tickets are $8 per person and are available at the door, or may be purchased from the Nevada Museum of Art - 329.3333 or the BRDI - 328.1010 prior to the event. AIA Continuing Education Credits available.
